equate and Contrast Luther and Calvin
During the 16th and 17th centuries, the religions of Luther and Calvin had begun to gain a mussiness of attention and support from people around Europe, by the attitudes toward semi governmental authority and social nightclub. They had some similar opinions such as believing in Christian doctrine and reforming churches. On the otherwise hand, they also had some differing attitudes toward political authority and social order such as Lutheranism conservative and Calvinism predestination.
The differences between Luther and Calvins beliefs on political authority started before the peasants revolt, duration Luther chose to care for the princes over the peasants, Calvin supported the peasants. Luther was a man of the establishment. He was non a revolutionary in any way, and not a man of the people. He was a serious social reformer of the clergy but had otherwise little ambitions to transfigure the very cloth of society. The princes that Luther supported used religion to extend their financial and political independence. Calvin chose to support the peasants and won following over the Dutch Netherlands and do a small gain in Germany. They in work out promoted the development of capitalism in Europe.




In social order, Luther and Calvin had very different beliefs. Luther believed in salvation, that only God could grant the dedicate of salvation, while Calvin believed in predestination, the belief of God or circle decides what will happen to a person, and there was nothing that could change your destiny. Luther also opposed the sale of indulgences, reformed the local church, abolished monasteries, and stop the requirement of celibacy for clergy. Calvin had very puritan beliefs; he outlaw card playing, gambling, dancing, theatergoing, and consumption of alcohol. He also established a strict theocracy, in which priests preach in the name of God.
