American Revolution

From 1763 to 1775 the Colonies in North America under the rule of heavy(p) Britain had many conflicts and tensions. The Colonists were struggling to fight for their independence. The Colonists began a great battle for independence with Great Britain thus known as the American Revolution.
On January 14th 1766 George Grenville a member of British parliament stated that the reason Britain is taking goods and imports is collectible to them being in debt with the Colonies. Great Britain protects and gives aid to the Colonies causing them to be in debt. Grenville believes that the colonists should pay back a small sh be to the mankind expense. Grenville believes that parliament has the power to impose taxes on the Colonies due to then still being a part of Great Britain. Just as Grenville says that Britain has all the write to tax goods, Dr Samuel Johnson states that the colonies they are subject to the English government and chargeable by English taxation He feels that all that Britain does to protect the Colonies and that the Colonies follow British rule, it is fully just to charge the Colonies with taxes.
Soon acts and documents were produced that increased tax on goods and gave ways for Britain to gain money back.



Some of which involve the Sugar feign of 1764, Stamp Act of 1765, Quartering Act of 1765 and the Intolerable Act of 1774. The Intolerable Act put taxes on imported goods, this causing the greatest decline on British imports. The Colonists began to boycott goods and stand up for their rights.
In a letter written by George Washington to Bryan Fairfax, Washington states that ingesting Britain to centre taxes was wrong. Washington says that it would be asking for a favor to swerve taxes and than not claiming a right.
