In the play Pygmalion and the film ?Pretty Woman? the division amid social classes can be defined and identified in the first place finished materialistic values, outward appearances and the habitual characteristics a psyche may gain after being under the ferment of different environments. In both texts, we are able to see to it a character?s social class through the way they speak and behave and their physical appearance and we too see how social superiority can be feigned. Eliza and Vivien?s unrefined habits (Eliza?s howling and Vivien?s sexual liberty) were forgotten as they adapted to high class behaviour and through the schooling or guidance that Higgins and Pickering and Edward provided them, they were able to transform themselves and behave the likes of women of high status in a short item of time.

We can see this amazing transformation in Eliza in ?My Fair Lady?- the way she presents herself at the ball is solely different to her initial behaviour.
